Temecula Daily Photo

Temecula was established in 1879 (26,608.54 acres). The name Temecula comes from the Luiseño Indian word Temecunga, "temet" meaning "sun" and "-nga" meaning "place of." The Temecula Valley wine is California's only prominent vinticultural area south of Los Angeles.
